There is POWER in the Blood!

There is POWER IN THE BLOOD

EVERYDAY OUGHT TO BE A MEMORIAL DAY FOR THE CHRISTIAN

OUR Memorial Day ought to be thought of like this;

1.     We need to MOURN the loss – Human grieving over loss yes…, but grieving also that our sin broke and continues to break… the heart and soul of our savior. We mourn the loss of innocence and purity and see that  WE HAVE ALL SINNED AND HAVE FALLEN SHORT OF HIS GLORY. Romans 3:23

2. We need to REMEMBER the lives;
When we live for Him... We do it by remembering that HE first died for
us! He gave His Life so that we could LIVE! During Communion…
Jesus told the followers...do this in REMEMBRANCE OF ME!
     Luke 22:19

What do we remember about Jesus?! His life and teachings yes, but
more importantly... His sacrifice! His AMAZING GRACE!

     VICTORY OF DEATH

Just like we are THANKFUL NATION for those who have given their lives… we need to remember that It's an ETERNAL THANKFULNESS we should have to our Savior who died so we could be Free INDEED!

3. We must GIVE THANKS for His Sacrifice:
Freedom in our Country has come at a GREAT Price... So has our
salvation! We remember and are thankful for our freedoms... But how
do you THANK HIM for your Spiritual Freedom? How do we thank Him
for the power that we have through His Blood?! Hebrews 10:19-23

Empowered By The Spirit

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

Galatians 5:24,25

“Fruit is always the miraculous, the created; it is never the result of willing, but always a growth. The fruit of the Spirit is a gift of God, and only He can produce it. They who bear it know as little about it as the tree knows of its fruit. They know only the power of Him on whom their life depends”Dietrich Bonhoeffer

When we walk in the LIGHT of His Miraculous POWER... we experience the miracle of GROWTH and the DEVELOPMENT of “FRUIT” in our lives to live as “Children of the Light”. It’s NOT a result of our own efforts... but it’s a work of the Holy Spirit in the life of those who “REFLECT” His light because of our proximity to it! John 15: 1-17

When we walk in “The Spirit” it begins to grow “fruit” that becomes who we are!

I.               A Fruit of the Spirit is LOVE! – Romans 5:5 God has GIVEN US this LOVE!

a.     This LOVE draws us closer to a love relationship with God! Romans 8:14-15

b.     This LOVE gives us the ability to love others!  1Jn 4:10 -11,16,21

c.     This LOVE (which is the Greatest of the Gifts) will transform us and create in us the ability to be “Jesus With Skin On”

                                                1. We are to walk in love - Ep 5:1-2
                                          2. We are to love one another fervently - 1Pe 1:22
                                            3. Love is to be the "tie that binds" the "garment" the Christian
is to put on - Col 3:12-14

                 4. It is to be the "universal motive" for all that we do -
                     1Co 16:14

                                             5. It is to prevent our Christian liberty from turning into
                                        destructive selfishness - Ga 5:13

DREAM! Pastor Nahum's Message to Grads!

THINK…   DO…   DREAM…

Have you ever been in a crowd of people and try to read the backs of the T-shirts of the people in front of you? With that thought in mind if you were to design your own shirt, what would it have on it? Or what if your could express your attitude about life, what would those big letters say on the back of your T-shirt? The Book of Deuteronomy is about God's people getting ready to settle down in their new land. It is a beginning and God tells them three things that will hold them together.

1. THINK! - Deuteronomy 8:2

What Should we think of?

-          ParentsTeachersFriends - Co-workers -  And the list goes on…

Life doesn’t just happen! It requires a lot of LOVE and a lot of people to help make it possible. THINK!

2.  DO! - Deuteronomy 11:16-17

There are many voices that you will hear and it is impossible to listen them all. You are put in a position to decide what to DO!

It is said that Practice Makes perfect. So start practicing making decisions that decide what to do that is best for you.

3.  DREAM! - There is something "out there" for you. You have a future and
everyone needs to have a dream, an idea, a hope, a vision.
                       Deuteronomy 30:20

THINK about others. DO follow the rules. DREAM big dreams. REMEMBER who helped you get to where you are now.

Going Fishing of Mother's Day!

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”

1 Peter 4:8

“There is no greater love shown than the love of a mom
who knows she is loved” -

As we Celebrate Mother’s Day… the REALITY of life is that
“the mom experience” can be different for everyone! Today we are focusing on the LOVE of a Mom! Her Unconditional Love is the SAME KIND of Love that You and I should have for those who need to experience the REAL LOVE of Christ!

Isaiah 54:1-3 Israel is the desolate woman (like you and I are because of sin) and God promises that they will have an incredible impact on the world! YOU can have an IMPACT on the world… if you can love LIKE A MOM!

We love because He first loved us! – 1 John 1:9

When we share the UNCONDITIONAL LOVE of Jesus with people… HOW is that most effectively done?

“People don’t care about how much you know until…
they know how much you care!”

“3 Story” Fishing

3 Story is about relationships. It is a way of seeing how the relationships we have with other people and God can be connected and grown. 3 Story is about a love that is Unconditional! Just like Mom’s!

3 Story is not an evangelism tool or method, it is who we want to be and how we want to live. 3 Story Needs to be our living operating system. Our hope is that it becomes our DNA. Knowing that if we seek to abide deeply with Jesus everyday and stay saturated in His word, we will be ready and aware of the opportunities He gives us in a lost world.

We focus on the “being”… and the “doing” flows from there.

Go Fish - # 1

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him.

Matthew 4: 19-20

“How glorious the splendor of a human heart that trusts that it is loved!”
Brennan Manning

Avoiding the “summer slump… to realize the “summer jump”

The reality of our society is that instead of our lives revolving around Christ and His Church, we have allowed Christ and His Church to revolved around our lives!

Acts 2:42-47 notice that the world DEVOTED is emphasized…

Going ‘fishing” for people. To realize the “jump”… we need to “feel” the compelling reasons why?!

5 Motivators for those who want to “fishing”: (2 Cor. 5: 1-21)

1.     The Glory of Heaven – Something to HOPE for!
2.     The Goal to PLEASE Christ: Something to LIVE for!
3.     The Gloom of judgment day: Something to prepare for!
4.     The Gripping love of Christ: Something to Die for!
5.     The Great Commission: Something to accomplish for!

Our Mission – Reconciliation of ourselves… and others.

2Co 5:20 - We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.

5 GREAT MOTIVATIONS OF EFFECTIVE SOUL WINNERS

2 Corinthians 5:1-5:21

5 GREAT MOTIVATIONS OF EFFECTIVE SOUL WINNERS
(2COR. 5:1-21)

The apostle Paul is one of the great examples of a soul winner. He survived and defied all hardship and challenges of his mission because his eyes are focus on the five great motivations of his life. Let us therefore study these five great principles that motivate the life of Paul in his ministry – the ministry of reconciliation.

Indeed, Paul lives a meaningful and exciting life. He found the reasons for living and accomplished the purpose of his very existence. He died a happy man because he found the right motivations.

I.            The glory of heaven: Something to hope for
II.            The goal to please Christ: Something to live for
III.            The gloom of judgment day: Something to prepare for
IV.            The gripping love of Christ: Something to die for
V.            The great commission: Something to accomplish for

I.THE GLORY OF HEAVEN (vs.1-8)
(Something to hope for)

1. The divine goods
2Co 5:1 Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.
2Co 5:2 Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling,
2Co 5:3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.
2Co 5:4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.

2. The divine guarantee
2Co 5:5 Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
2Co 5:6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord.
2Co 5:7 We live by faith, not by sight.
2Co 5:8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

II. THE GOAL TO PLEASE CHRIST – (v.9)
(Something to live for)

2Co 5:9 So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.

III. THE GLOOM OF THE JUDGMENT DAY (vs.10-11)
(Something to prepare for)

1. The admonition:
2Co 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
            Reward for good works
            Punishment for bad works

2. The exhortation:
2Co 5:11 Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men. What we are is plain to God, and I hope it is also plain to your conscience.
2Co 5:12 We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us, so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart.
            Fear the Lord
            Use conscience
See what is in the heart

3. The intention
2Co 5:13 If we are out of our mind, it is for the sake of God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
            For the sake of God
            For the sake of brethren

IV. THE GRIPPING LOVE OF CHRIST (vs.14-17)
(Something to die for)

1. It is a compelling love
2Co 5:14 For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.

2. It is a changing love
2Co 5:15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

3. It is an enlightening love
2Co 5:16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer.

4. It is a transforming love
2Co 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

V. THE GREAT COMMISSION (vs.18-21)
(Something to accomplish for)

1. The ministry:
2Co 5:18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:

2. The message:
2Co 5:19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

3. The mission
2Co 5:20 We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.

4. The magnification
2Co 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God
