"Go into the village opposite you, and immediately as you
enter it, you will find a colt tied there, on which no one yet has ever sat;
untie it and bring it here”.
Mark 11:2-3
“If God can use a stinky little donkey in the triumphant
fulfillment of His plan, then just maybe He’s got a plan for me too!” – Beth
Moore
How does a DONKEY become fit for the service of the King
of Kings and HOW can we be made useful for Him too?
There are 3 important things that
make this donkey fit for royal service, and they are equally important for us!
First, the donkey is…
1.
Selected
a.
By
Pre-arrangement – Jesus has cleaerly made arrangements ahead of time. This
donkey has been set aside for a noble purpose! So are you and I!
b.
By Prophecy – 550
years earlier, Zeckariah had prophesied about this little donkey! God selected
this donkey to play a part!
John 15:16 – Ephesians 2:10
2.
Sanctified
a.
By Preservation
– Mark 11:2 - We must be separated from the world also to be made useful to
the Lord
b.
By Preparation
– The donkey was prepared for the Lord’s use and we must be too! 1 Peter 3:15 and 2 Tim 2:15
3.
Satisfied
a.
To present
(give) ourselves – The donkey submits (yields) and presents itself for service.
So must we! Romans 12:1
b.
To play a
humble part – The donkey’s part was to LIFT JESUS so He could be seen! Galatians 6:13
Matthew 6:1 – Not to be exalted, but to exalt Him!
